On December 20, 2010, the U.S. Department of the Treasury announced the availability of terms and application materials for the Small Business Lending Fund (SBLF).  Enacted into law as part of the Small Business Jobs Act, the Small Business Lending Fund is a $30 billion fund that encourages lending to small businesses by providing Tier 1 capital to qualified community banks.  Through this program, the price a bank pays for SBLF funding will be reduced as the bank’s small business lending increases – with rates as low as 1% per annum.  Institutions may find detailed program materials and term sheets online.  Included on this page is a fact sheet, a comprehensive "getting started" guide, and term sheets for banks seeking to apply for SBLF funding, and application instructions.

You can sign up for updates from the Treasury Department on the SBLF program and if you have any general questions on the program you can call the “SBLF hotline” at 1-888-832-1147.
